Why life is unfair?
Why life is unfair?
Because you believe that it’s unfair.
Do you know what depression really is? Depression is a feeling that
results from giving up when dealing with an external stressful event by
becoming indifferent to it.
Let suppose you had a work related problem that you were unable to
solve for months. If you didn’t respond to it or if you felt helpless for a
prolonged period of time then sooner or later the stress resulting from the
problem will turn into depression. It’s as if depression is your mind’s way of
saying “I gave up” or “This problem is too big for me to handle, I lost hope”
But what does this has to do with fairness or unfairness of life?
It’s quite humiliating for your subconscious mind to accept the
fact that you weren’t competent enough to deal with your problems, that’s why
it doesn’t declare defeat directly but instead it searches for any possible
excuse to blame it instead.
But what kind of excuse can make someone feel good while having a
big personal conflict like this one? As you might have already guessed, a new
belief about life, people or the world that makes the person a victim instead
of making him incompetent.
“Life is unfair”, “No one can get everything he wanted to get” and
“You can’t succeed before you suffer” are common examples of false beliefs that
your mind might use as a decoy not to present you with the real fact.
So back to depression, when people give up in when dealing with
stress they become depressed and when people fail to deal with life problems
they develop false beliefs about it such as “Life is unfair”
Both are defense mechanisms but the false beliefs one is a very
intelligent method as it protects the person’s ego!
But life is really unfair.
If you tried once and failed then surely you will find that life is
unfair. Life was not designed for those who try once then give up but instead
it’s more suited for persistent people who keep trying until they get what they
want.
Ask any successful person, is life fair? He will tell you in the
beginning it wasn’t fair for him but he kept trying until it became fair. Life
will never be fair with those who don’t fight until it becomes fair.
Unless you keep trying until you create fairness life will always
be unfair to you.
Another thing is that a failure is a step to success, two failures
are two steps to success, and three failures are three steps to success and so
on. If you fail you will learn more. Keep in mind that you are not a failure if
you tried once but did not succeed rather try discover what made you fail in
the first place and make sure you avoid the mistake you noticed in the first
place that made you fail.
A popular quote states that “Aspire to acquire the desire you
admire. Do not retire when you fire and it backfired. Rather refire to acquire
the desire you admire in life.”
Only by so doing can you become a successful person and only
through this way can life be fair to you.
